Shopify is currently the leading e-commerce platform, and Salehoo is the most popular directory of drop shippers and wholesalers, so why are they not used together by entrepreneurs who set up new online stores?
Shopify and E-Commerce
Over the past two years, there have been a flood of new Shopify e-commerce stores selling everything from baby clothes to drones, mostly advertising on Facebook – and some making their owners a lot of money.
The platform has established itself as the leading e-commerce store builder, and its' easy to see why. The basic program couldn't be easier to set up and there are a huge range of apps that can be used to improve a basic store.
One of the leading Apps is Oberlo – which allows users to import products directly from Ali Express and have them drop shipped to customers. That in turn has helped Ali Express become the number one source of drop shipped and wholesale goods, passing by traditional directories like Salehoo.
Salehoo – The Wholesaler Directory
Salehoo was founded in 2005, and while it was very useful for eBay sellers and e-commerce stores at the time – and still has millions of products from certified suppliers – it is far too manual to be popular with Shopify users.
If you want to sell a product that's available through Salehoo, you need to contact each supplier individually and trade with them by email or phone – there is no option to import products directly into your store and automate the fulfilment process, and that's why Salehoo has become less popular over the years.
